Dynamic Topics on the Instrument Selection Page

Your /aerentschoolselect page has a few spots where dynamic topics can appear. These aren't topics that show on every page load, these topics will only show after each selection is made. 

Here is an example of a page before any selections are made:

And here is the same page showing where the dynamic topics are showing based on the selections:

*Screenshot also has arrows pointing to static topics (top and bottom arrows) that show in the header and the footer of the page. Those topics appear as part of the page and are not dynamic, as they show no matter what is selected.

To add dynamic topics to your website, you can follow these steps: 

First, you'll need to configure your topics in AIM. In our example, I've created these topics in AIM for my selections above.

In AIM, go to the Active-e Contract Setup launcher.

-click District, Select a District, and add a Topic name. This can be any name you'd like but we recommend trying to follow a pattern so you don't "lose track" of the topics. Please don't use spaces or any special characters other than a period. Here I've called my topic "gilbert.district"

Save.  

click School, Select a School, and add a Topic name. This can be any name you'd like but we recommend trying to follow a pattern so you don't "lose track" of the topics. Please don't use spaces or any special characters other than a period. Here I've called my topic "gilbert.school"

Save.  

click Teacher, Select a School, and add a Topic name. This can be any name you'd like but we recommend trying to follow a pattern so you don't "lose track" of the topics. Please don't use spaces or any special characters other than a period. Here I've called my topic "gilbert.teacher"

Save. 

Repeat this process for the rest of the 'entities' you would like to add topics to.

Dynamic Topics for districts, schools, and teachers will automatically display if that school only has one choice available. 
 

Fun Hint: You can give all of your entities the same topic name if you want the same topic to show for every selection. Example: You might want the same message to appear after any district is selected. Enter "district.rental.message" as the topic in every district and then you only need to edit a single topic in AIMStorefront.

Now that you've configured your topics in AIM you can Create or Edit topics in AIMStorefront

Login to AIMStorefront /aesys

In the Left Navigation select Content > Manage Topics, and select "Create Topic" or open the topic you'd like to edit if it already exists

Set up your topic like this. I'm using "gilbert.district" in the example below, which is the name I entered into the District Setup screen for Gilbert District in AIM. You need to be sure your topic name exactly matches the topic name you entered in AIM.

Save your topic and click Refresh Store. 

You're DONE! dynamic topics will now appear when appropriate on the instrument selection page.
